SQL DB migration to new instance

Hi,

We have an SQL DB its connecting to multiple Management Agent and server in FIM/MIM and its very critical and dependent on many application. Hence if we are migrating to a new instance we need to change the same information in many places.

So is there a way we can use the same old instance name for new instance as well ?

Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.
