Upgrading SQL 2008 (Collation 80 - SQL 2000) to SQL 2012

Hi,
We have few databases still in SQL 2000 syntax (Collation 80) but runs under SQL 2008. Now we are planning to upgrade to SQL 2012. What is the best approach? Is it possible to check for deprecated SQL syntax?
