I have a customer that is migrating from SQL Server 2008R2 32-bit to SQL Server 2008R2 64-bit. He has tried transferring the logins and passwords using the following two KBs. Note, he used method two in KB 246133.
I have read the following knowledge base articles and my customer, but neither apply to this situation:
- How to transfer logins and passwords from SQL Server 7.0 to SQL Server 2000 or between servers that are running SQL Server 2000. http:// support . microsoft . com / kb / 246133
- How to transfer logins and passwords between instances of Microsoft SQL Server 2005, of Microsoft SQL Server 2008, and of Microsoft SQL Server 2012 on different servers. http : // support . microsoft . com / kb / 918992
Is there anyone in this forum that can provide me with the link to a KB for this type of migration and/or know where I can find a procedure for transferring the logins and passwords for this type of migration?
